Church Newsletter Update – Sis. Delphine H. Scott served as the newsletter editor April 2013 - October 2014.  The name of the newsletter was changed to The Informer and first published August 18, 2013, under the leadership of Rev. Wanda Rapley. Church ministry officers contributed articles to the six newsletters on a quarterly basis. Former First Lady Sharon Wade Byrd served as the newsletter editor December 2016 through November 2018 under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Byrd while Sis. Scott served as the co-editor. Sis. Sylvia Kelly Harley served as the reporter. Each member received a hard copy of the newsletters. A special page (https://www.stpeteramechurchnorth.com/newsletter-archive.html) on the church website is where previous newsletters have been archived.

Church Website Ministry - St. Peter’s first website, www.stpeteramechurchnorth.com, was created and launched by Sis. Delphine H. Scott on August 18, 2013, under the leadership of Rev. Wanda Y. Rapley.   Current 2024 Website Maintenance Manager:  Sis. Delphine H. Scott.

Social Media Ministry - The church expanded its presence on the world wide web through its four social media pages created, launched, and managed by Sis. Delphine H. Scott. St. Peter AME Church’s first social media presence was YouTube which can be accessed via the following link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaDLU83dzaU6h6MCU8ooGcg.  Its second social media presence was Twitter, (https://twitter.com/StPeterAMENorth) both launched on November 28, 2013, under the leadership Rev. Benjamin K. Sims. To date there are 705 videos of full sermons and choirs singing posted on YouTube. St. Peter AME Church’s third social media presence was Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/stpeteramechurchnorth), launched on December 1, 2013, also under the leadership of Rev. Benjamin K. Sims. Camera-recorded videos were edited, and mini sermons and choir selections posted weekly on Facebook from November 2014 to March 2020.  The first recorded sermon of Rev. Sims occurred after an impromptu request from Licentiate Michael Buckson on November 15, 2014. Rev. Sims’s topic for that Sunday was “Small Size: Big Punch,” James 3: 3-11:  Throughout the years, several members have supported Facebook by sharing (Sis. Angela W. Harley, Bro. D’Andre Hook, Latasha Hook, Rev. Anthony Washington) and posting, (Sis. Ruby Knotts Stewart, Sis. Roeberyl Harley, Sis. Destiny Harley).  St. Peter AME Church’s fourth social media presence was Instagram  (https://www.instagram.com/stpeteramechurchnorth/) launched under the leadership of Rev. Benjamin Sims on July 12, 2016. Bro. D’Andre Hook managed the Instagram page for three years until 2019.  St. Peter’s newest internet presence was via Google. To assist anyone searching Google for “St. Peter AME Church, North, SC,” Sis. Delphine H. Scott established November 2018 a Google Business Profile (https://g.co/kgs/cmVUibC) for the church under the leadership of Rev. Anthony Washington.  As a result, the church has had high visibility via Google Search.  The church was proud to learn that its internet and social media presence had indeed been a contributing factor in motivating one of our newest church members, Sis. Theresa Wilson, to join St. Peter. When Sis. Wilson moved to Swansea, SC, she was looking for a church to attend and googled churches in the Swansea area. She came across St. Peter because of its numerous postings on Facebook and You Tube!  She informed the pastor, Rev. Anthony Washington, that she chose St. Peter because it was the only church in the area at the time of her search that posted weekly sermons. She began watching sermons on Sundays and eventually began attending church services. She attended practically every Sunday since then and is very active in church leadership and church ministries to this day.  Current 2024 Social Media Ministry Manager:  Sis. Delphine H. Scott.

Facebook Live Ministry - Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rev. Anthony Washington began broadcasting Sunday School and Worship Services via Facebook Live in March 2020 on his Facebook Page using a mobile phone. The Facebook Live broadcast was videoed initially from his home. As the severity of the pandemic diminished, the Facebook Live moved to the side entrance of church, then to the side entrance of the fellowship hall, and finally, as restrictions were lifted, back to the pulpit in the church sanctuary.  First Lady Mildred Washington served as the “Facebook Live” Videographer from March 2020 to October 2022.  Each Sunday, Sis. Delphine H. Scott shared Rev. Washington’s Facebook Live Services to the St. Peter AME Church’s Facebook page for dedicated followers to view. Our Facebook Live Sunday Worship Services continued with our current pastor, Rev. Roberta D. Jackson after the persistent leadership of Trustee Pro-Tem, Willie Harley. Sis. Tanya Mintz served as our Lead “Facebook Live” Videographer November 2022 – March 3, 2024. Our back-up Facebook Live Videographers were Sis. Angela W. Harley and Sis. Ruby K. Stewart.  2022-2024 “Facebook Live” Lead Videographer:  Sis. Tanya R. Mintz.

Facebook Livestream Ministry -Thanks to the leadership of Trustee Pro-Tem, Bro. Willie Harley and support of our pastor, trustees, stewards, and members, our church has been fully equipped with an upgraded sound media system, TV monitors, and a ceiling camera to livestream our church services via Open Broadcaster System (OBS) to Facebook.  Our first Facebook Livestream was on Easter Sunday, March 10, 2024. Rev. Jackson sermon topic was “The Easter Triumph: The Death of Christ" from Revelation 1: 18. Our fellowship hall is also equipped with a monitor that allows our kitchen staff and church overflow to watch worship services. Sis. Tanya Mintz serves as our Lead Facebook Livestream Videographer. Our back-up Facebook Livestream Videographers are Sis. Angela W. Harley, Sis. Delphine H. Scott, and Sis. Ruby K. Stewart.  Current 2024 “Facebook Livestream” Lead Videographer:  Sis. Tanya R. Mintz.
